Tempered Glasses

Glass is subjected to a procces called glass tempering to make it resistant to heat and impact. The tempering process is based on rapid cooling of glass  panels after being heated to tempeatures close to the melting point in special surface. Glass is heated to 700 ° C and cooled by blowing air. The surface of the glass shrinks and hardens with decreasing temperature. However interior of the glass remains warm. With the cooling of the inner side, pressure is formed on both sides of the glass and tensile stresses occur on the inner side.  While the glass, which undergoes tempering process  by applying shock cooling is able to become resistant  to a thermal shock of 300 ° C, but A thermal shock of  30- 50  ° C causes Non-tempered glass to break.  Moreover  Temperable glasses are  more than normal glasses

Temperable Low-E Glass is manufactured by depositing multi layered metal/metal oxides on float glass through “magnetically enhanced vacuum sputtering” technology
